Bike Talk / Power commander removal
September 01, 2016, 01:57:10 PM
How exactly do I remove the power commander well I know how to I just follow the wires and unplug but I can't work out what to do then is there an unconnected wire somewhere do I plug 2 together or what? I'd like the bike to be useable when I've removed it if possible , also I've removed the hM quickshifter and it's plugged into the power commander? Thought they was stand alone units? , Also as no lights or anything come on the shifter or PC I presume they only have power when the bike is started not just ignition ?

Mechanical / B1H brake upgrade
August 20, 2016, 07:25:39 AM
ive had a few callipers on the bike in the past had some monoblocs off a Yamaha I think at some point and had some brembos after that now I'm back to the stock calliper , the pads are very low (am I fuck replacing them at £90) so I thought it would be best to just fit a better uprated calliper , what are my options , I want better performance to go with my accossato m/c but I don't want to break the bank , I know you guys have had various callipers to your b1hs over the years so any insight is much appreciated

Suspension / fork internal swop is it possible
August 20, 2016, 07:21:58 AM
right on my doner bike the forks have K-Tech 20SSK Piston kit and Flow Control Valves fitted so this is obviously a big step up over stock I was going to just switch the forks out but mine are in much better condition , on the ketch spec forks there is pitting on the fork bottoms and also some light pitting on the stanchions , and what looks like a dodgy seal (not gone yet...)

how realistic is it to just switch the internals over to my set of forks , is this even possible , what would I need etc?

Is this just a poor quality equivalent? Would it help take the rear end off the b1h?

Bike Talk / THE GREAT B1H RESURECTION!!!
April 17, 2016, 07:16:07 AM
well the ktm (the second one) is sold

now I need to decide on a new bike problem is we are moving next week so said bike will be left outside the window on the path , chained the hell up of course

got about £2500 to play with just been offered a tlr1000r for £1650 which is a bit tempting ,but on the other hand I'm considering taking the b1h out of retirement and putting it back in road trim only problem is its been sat for the best part of 6 years am I going to be able to do everything that would be needed to it without a work shop?

I'm thinking all new fluids new battery new tyres new filters and checking all the bolts etc?

Bike Talk / pushing the bike in gear?
December 09, 2015, 10:57:24 AM
Battery didnt seem to have the juice to start the bike this morning so was going to let the clutch out down a big hill  , but ive noticed while in gear (lever pulled in) its extremely hard to push is that normal there's alot of resistance is this normal I always thought they rolled easily I certainly cant remember this on any other bike ive owned?

Bike Talk / colour accents...
October 08, 2015, 06:41:05 PM
cough anodising

what's exactly acceptable to have on the bike ive always hated it but the ktm seems different , its got a few little bits , 3 res covers and they look good , will be getting a orange chain and sprocket when they need doing , but my question is what's too much? I'm not interested in bolts

but I found these.......

Bike Talk / starting problem *URGENT*
September 11, 2015, 11:35:14 AM
right got a bit of a starting problem I thought it was the starter  motor but now I'm not sure I replaced the battery that was in the bike with an identical item , ytx7-bs which is a 7ah battery and it manages to turn it over but it takes a while for it to fire , yet if you put a battery booster on it it fires (despite having to push the button 3 times) ive been told the battery listed for my model is a ytz10s-bs which is an 8.6ah battery do you think that its more than likely its not getting enough power and that's why it struggles to fire (starts no problem when hot)

Bike Talk / The KTM......
September 04, 2015, 04:22:07 PM
Well the ktm has had her first proper ride and she handled everything I chucked at her from very fast corners to 60mph down a bridleway with 2ct tyres on her , I do feel like I've been spoilt speed wise with the sports bikes as she does run out of steam but give her the beans and up to 70mph she's a rocket
No faults have really risen I have to push the starter button approximately 3 times to start her as the first just cuts , so possible starter motor fault ,brake disk I think is warped as when stoping it feels like I keep letting go slightly then puting it back on, and I may need to tighten the headrace but it may be the disc giving that illusion, only thing it needs doing is suspension hardened up and I need to some how make it louder all in all the 2005 640 sm gets a thumbs up I'm very happy with her  :afro:
