Title: New year, new bike
Post by: terry950sm on December 24, 2017, 12:53:44 PM
Thinking of one of:

On a PCP deal. Anyone any advice on PCP deals, pros and cons

What's the interest rate? What's the balloon total? How longs the finance?

PCP funds depreciation - nothing more. I suppose it depends what you plan to do with it at the end of the finance term.

It's a very tempting deal. I'd be interested myself but rumour has it a lot of new cars sold on PCP nowadays will have no equity at the end of the finance period due to the second hand market being on its arse. How it changes in the bike industry I don't know.

Probably keep it at the end of the deal.
Just not in the position to sell everything at the moment, so may elevate my financial situation out before I start selling my current bikes.

Some saving from when they were released. I feel for the poor fuckers who paid top dollar.

Need to sit on one. Reports coming back that they are small and have a cramped riding position.

Great video. Poor Dealership network and reports of poor mpg put me off this particular bike...but I reckon it would be a fun ride.

I'm lucky. Have a very good KTM dealer 5 mins from my house.

Can't wait to test ride a 790 in March.

Haven't seen a bad review yet...6th gear is too tall and can be thirsty is the only two reported negatives...but that is mere opinion.

Happy New Bike day then Tel???

Be very interested to hear what you think of it. A tall 6th for a road tourer that's renowned for being thirsty is not surprising Alzo.

Thanks Moz.

Struggling to find a Grey one in the UK. Plenty of Orange ones.

Dealers are advertising the bike, but when you ring them, they have none left.

Been offered ex-demos, nearly new bikes and one large dealer has decided to stick a grand on the price tag.

They looks so similar, I'd take the orange one.

Bet changing the fairing wouldn't cost the earth.

The reports suggest 6th is redundant under 85mph...but as said that's Journos reviews...take most with a pinch of salt.

I wouldn't take a 990 SMT out in the winter either Komp - far too good.

Dilemma. I have 3 bikes, which one do I get rid of. KTM 950sm, had this from new, sort of attached to it. KTM 450sx, like riding a pushbike with engine.

Statement of hooligan intent right there.

Of course not your honour, I purchased this motorcycle for pleasant perambulations in the countryside and occasional trips to the shops.

Pro-race small company just outside Peterborough. £220 posted.

Manufacture claim 98db at 5k. Might do the de-cat mod after 1st service.

The most powerful bike I have owned for a good few years.

I have not ridden the bike. 5 miles on clock.

Terry how you getting on with the GT?

to me they look like the only real replacement for my smt, and although do not intend on replacing just yet, figured no harm it getting some opinions :)

thanks

Had to do a few mods to make it more comfortable for my aging body

I wonder if the 790 might change to one of those in time.

Sales of the SDR and derivatives were on their arse initially. The newer model with the TFT dash and optional QS etc is much better ergonomically than the earlier model.

That would interest me next summer.
