I’d just clip the picks with the garage, cars and reg places showing in the background mate. Plenty of people can see you have a nice Lotus and Rangey tucked away.

Paranoid maybe but deffo worth being careful.

Really? That’s a shame.

I approve of a Speed though. I suspect good ones are thin on the ground now?

E-marked?

The article wasn’t about just fake helmets, but cheap shit ones too.

I've had a Shoei NXR for a few of years. Comfy, detachable linings.

My only slight issue is that the ventilation is not adequate enough for my liking (track use)

Interesting. Would the GT Air be any better?

It’s a toss up between the 2 at the moment. I’m guessing the GT is a better road helmet which, lets face it, is what I’ll use it for for 99.9% of the time.

I think the GT is above the NXR in the range?

Have you sought advice on how common this could be on a Buell forum ?

Yeah cos the vast majority of forum users know what they’re talking about

Still liking my NXR, which succeeded an XR1000
Light, quiet and stable :)

The NXR looks the best option for me.

My lid is 11 years old but I think I’ve only had it for about 8-9 of them. I got it at the NEC so it could have been old stock.

I’ll try a few on and see what’s what. Problem I have is finding a stockist of a good selection of lids near to me. I think J&S near Oulton would be the place to go?

Are there any other Shoei owners on here. Having pulled a GT Air on it felt much better than the equivalent Arai from a “comfort” point of view. Maybe that’s the one.

I need to understand both Shoei and Arai’s ranges now. They seem to have models I’ve never heard of.

1. You’ll always be worrying about a catastrophic engine failure.
2. You love it so can’t.
3. If you love riding it - not an option. If you love it without riding it - an option.
4. Lookout for a low mileage motor (if you can find one) and try and learn what this whole cog failure is all about and design a replacement that doesn’t fail and save the old Buell owners of the world whilst still riding and enjoying the bike. It might not fail for years?

A red one to fo with the new track bike

I’m not a shallow snowflake like you - no need for colour co-ord. Function over form every time.

My Arai is now 11 yrs old.

I’m thinking Shoei as well as Arai as they have changed their shell shape in recent years and they now appear to fit me of the couple of new ones I’ve tried on.

Who wears a Shoei? Which model? Any recommendations? Budget of about £400.

I’ll try PR5s in the SDR next. Close to needing a new rear after just 1200 miles

S22’s - what “type” of tyre are they?

Fast road? Sports Touring? Trackday? Longevity hard? Ages to warm up?

Bigger engines for sure...relaxed the duty so makes it easier... probably dedicated electronics and yes more of them
Covered front wheels maybe
More exotic materials maybe

There aren’t any restrictions on materials already afaik. It’s still a prototype class.

Make the engines too big and powerful and the tyre width and wheel sizes need to change. Make the tyres wider and handling suffers. That might make the bike slower overall therefore counter productive.

Personally, I think the only thing that might change if the rule book was thrown out is more aero and maybe a slightly bigger engine. Obviously, the factories would develop their own electronics rather than being on a control ECU.
