Anything with around 25bhp is plenty of power, don't be fooled into thinking you need a balls out 100kg/40bhp enduro beast.

I'd say electric start is bit more than a "nice to have". I wouldn't buy a kick start only these days, but that's just me personally.

Get something you're comfortable dropping (and then dropping some more). Because you will.

A lot.

I bet you any money that it's been clocked.

ALL jap imports have a hair cut when they get registered here.

Without exception.

It has Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (build 1809 to be precise!).

It's been kind of bought on eBay but I get the feeling the guy is going to mess me around. I've already had the "can you keep it until payday question", so I'm expecting a non-paying time waster.

I'm near Tidworth on the Wiltshire/Hampshire border.

So in order to raise funds for the upcoming Taffy Dakar, I'm selling my secondary gaming PC - I've transferred the parts to a brand new case (still with the polythene wrapper ready to be pulled off - I'll let the new owner have the satisfaction of doing that). It's been fully stripped down and rebuilt from scratch, it looks stunning.

A gist of the specs:

i7-7700k CPU
EVGA Nvidia GTX1070 FTW Edition
Corsair LPX 16gb DDR4-3000mhz RAM
Gigabyte Z270X DESIGNARE motherboard (in white)
Samsung 512GB NVMe M.2 Drive
Samsung 500GB EVO 850 SSD Drive
bequiet! Pure Rock CPU Cooler
Phanteks P300 White with Tempered Glass side panel
EVGA Supernova 750W Fully Modular 80+ Gold Power Supply

Case, motherboard and GPU are all RGB for extra bling!
Put this together in PC partpicker and it comes in at over £1300 - This build is for PC connoisseurs, all parts are absolutely top shelf. You're getting a LOT of PC for your money here.

£750

I'm pretty sure I've used this guy before (although it was a hell of a long time ago so I can't be 100%). If he is the same guy, then he was very good.

Not exactly a great deal of help, I know

Wanted / Re: Ejector/Ejection seat

I genuinely opened this expecting it to be a joke along with tales of how you want to play an elaborate trick on your wife by jettisoning her off into space, or something along those lines. Who knew you could actually BUY one (albeit second hand!?)

Now I want one.

Thanks.

Nah, road bike goes away, trail bike comes out.

Most two, some three.

When I had a break from biking last, it was for 2.5 years. I managed to find an insurer that would accept it.

Yes I paid a higher premium for that year, but managed to salvage it.

Bike Talk / Bus Lanes - You're doing it wrong
March 27, 2017, 07:48:27 PM
On Saturday I received a nicely worded letter from Southampton City Council notifying me of the discount i'll receive upon payment for using one of their Bus lanes. All I need to do is pay within 7 days to receive my 50% discount - How very thoughtful of them.

Rightly or wrongly, I believed that Bus lanes could be used by motorcycles for filtering - But clearly I land on the wrong side of that argument according to this particular city.

Now I've not got a problem with being in the wrong, but what I find staggering is that the law appears to be inconsistent across the country - Depending on the policy of the local authority as to whether they allow it or not.

Is it fair to have such inconsistency in road laws? Can I use this inconsistency to contest the fine? Or do I just need to be a man and suck it up.

Answers/flaming on a postcard...
