Reg number from VIN

I was recently given an old CB250n, however it doesn't have any paperwork or reg plate.

Does anyone know of a way to find out what the reg number is from the vin?

Have you tried DVLA they can surprisingly be very helpful

Yes I did, just forgot to post the response, turns out I needed a v62 form and jobs a good'un.
