Thanks for the offer Andy. I'll come up with something.

No demo 890s. There aren't enough of them. Very limited supply.

I'll decide what to do when the SDR goes. No regrets there. It's the old model now and I'm not losing that much on it after 18 months. Probably less than £800 and it needs tyres and a service. That's a result in my book.

Quote from: Lord Danoir the first on June 28, 2020, 12:50:16 pmI don't enjoy classic car club meets, but I do enjoy the shows.

I'm not sure what all the fuss is about having the newest latest bike. I'm using my RC8 and my roadster and I'll bet they're worth about half the price of a new bike. Add in my MV and it may stretch to 3 quarters!!

This is also correct. Lockdown pretty much killed off my desire to have more than one bike. Seeing one just sat there not being used was bad enough.

One thing that does appeal is a classic sports car for the whole old man owners club meets. They ain't cheap though.

Wow! Really?

The issue I had with that at the time of the accident was nothing four wheeled (I could afford) could replace the "bike thrill" I was after.

I guess the only thing I'd do 4 wheels would be a Tesla Model 3 Performance as that way I'd have something I can commute in cheaply enough that might provide the odd bit of excitement.

It's true. You might be right.

I'm worried I've not missed biking during lockdown.

Or have I forgotten how good it is?

I'm in a quandary.

Ridden by complete losers. Not becoming of me.

Just sold the Superduke in a private sale to another guy from Glasgow (sadly not the one who could improve his credibility with a proper bike rather than an unreliable S1000R in chav max power motorsport colours) so I'm now cash rich for the right deal.

Still got the deposit on the 890R. It's not arrived yet. Wondering if it's the way to go. Lots of reliability issues I'm hearing.

He finally owns a good looking Kawasaki.

Will wonders ever cease?

It's funny you mention that. CB have just taken a fairly low mileage RC8R in part-ex that's very tempting. Sadly it's still £10k and for just a few hundred quid more a brand new 890 (with warranty) seem better.

I'd really like a new 765RS but because my KTM & Triumph dealers are really close to each other dealing with other brands is really difficult.

No need to be confused. I buy too many bikes 😂

I don't have a 790 - I have a Gen 2 Superduke R.

My trade-in offer for that is pretty good and it'll drop like a stone come the end of the season when the unsold Gen 3 bikes crash in value.

Decided it's got to go.

Quote from: Andy M on June 11, 2020, 10:36:35 amIs the new bike here yet?

Nope.

Welsh dealerships are still banned from opening although I've heard the 890Rs are in the UK now.

I'm having second thoughts again though. I've read some horrendous stories about the engine reliability and issues with the brakes.

Sadly - I can't get a decent trade in against anything other than a new KTM.

At least you are legally (if not morally allowed to ride out). We can't and I don't want to commute on it either.

I've also just sold the 675 to a bloke from Glasgow. Deposit paid and he's picking up tomorrow. That's made the possible deal a bit better.

Settled on an 890R.

Doubt I'll go full Akky. Lockdown has shown me I don't hugely miss riding therefore there's not much point in spending out loads.

The chance to trade two old bikes for a limited numbers brand new one and get cash back in hand is too good to turn down.

I'll get a slip-on exhaust and tail tidy and be done with it.

Misc For Sale / BMW i3 REx
May 26, 2020, 02:26:59 pm
I'm so impressed with my foray into EV ownership I'm going to upgrade to a newer i3S full EV.

I suspect current atmosphere won't see me selling privately but I'll give it a go.

In short if you want an awesome fun car that will cost between 0.1p and 2p per mile with a realistic EV only range of 90 - 140 miles together with acceleration performance of a warm hatch look no further.

Range Extender generator adds another 100-140 miles to that range (at about 40mpgs so not at all bad for a petrol) indefinitely.

I'm so impressed with it. Message me for more.

890 and the 675 are too similar.

Current thoughts are 890R with both 675 and 1290 traded but full Akky system included in the deal.

Depends how harsh the insurance quote is with it.
